What is a Saturn Return? It's the point in your life where Saturn returns to the same astrological position it was at when you were born. Since Saturn's period is 10,759 days, or just under 29-1/2 years, the Saturn return generally refers to the 29-30 age timeframe. The second Saturn return therefore occurs in the 59-60 timeframe. Each time Saturn returns to its natal position, people are supposedly reborn into a new mode of living. The ages line up well with significant events in most peoples' lives; the tendency to be more serious about spiritual and social matters around 29 or 30, and tendency toward retirement around 60, etc. Joe Landwehr wrote a wonderful piece on the matter called "The Saturn Return As A Cyclical Rite of Passage", which is available online at http://www.eyeofcentaur.com/Pages/saturn.html.
